Five Lunacies of Equitorial Guinea

Bantu-speaking peoples, predominantly Fang, establish the majority of population of the Equatorial Guinea. Bantu have a proverb that deals with the common sense: “There are forty kinds of lunacy, but only one kind of common sense.” Based on how the Equatorial Guinea is currently governed it’s clear that the common sense stopped applying there long time ago violating the great historical and cultural of the Bantu speakers who introduced Iron Age and an agriculture civilization into a surrounding Neolithic hunting and gathering societies very early and probably around the sixth century BC.

Concha Buika

The recording artist and singer, Concha Buika, is a unique phenomenon in the contemporary, globalised music milieu. She was born in Spain, on the island of Mallorca. Her parents were political refugees from the former Spanish colony of Guinea Equatoreal.
The Buika family was the only African family in the neighborhood where they lived. It was with the local Gitano community that Concha found a second home. Strange as it may seem, learning to sing flamenco and absorbing the outsider culture of the Gitanos was what helped her to find a path to self-acceptance.

Stop Impunity in Rwanda

This week, in breaking news, Spain requested South Africa to extradite exiled Rwandan general, Faustin Kayumba Nyamwasa, who it wants on charges including genocide and killing four Spaniards in Rwanda in the 1997.

“He took part in systematic and planned attacks on the civilian population, in forced disappearances and crimes against international law, also, organizing and executing terrorist attacks,” Spanish justice ministry statement said.

In breaking news, the Spanish Justice Ministry said Spain has requested on Friday that South Africa extradite exiled Rwandan general, Faustin Kayumba Nyamwasa, who it wants on charges including genocide and killing four Spaniards in Rwanda in the 1990s.
