Rwanda’s RDF Soldiers Illegally Acquiring DR Congo Voter Registration Cards

Currently in the Democratic Republic of Congo, authorities are issuing voter registration cards to citizens for the upcoming presidential elections. This voter registration card will substitute the personal ID, and will distinguish those citizens eligible to vote.
An undercover reporter for Umuvugizi disguised as a Congolese person in Goma, witnessed the Rwandan soldiers crossing the border into Goma, moving back and fourth, taking without fear, those voter identity cards, and pretending to be Congolese citizens.

Rwandan Opposition Reacts To RPF Oppression

Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, chair person of Rwanda’s opposition coalition, FDU-Inkingi is spending her 236th day in Kigali’s Central prison, and the eleventh (11) consecutive week in inhumane isolation, which experts and party members have called ‘some kind of torture’. She is denied visits from members of her political party. On Friday June 3, 2011, visitors attempting to visit her at the maximum prison were ordered manu militari by Nyarugenge District police chief Mr Mutezintare to vacate the prison premises.

In a not so rare confession of intent to commit murder, the Rwanda Patriotic Front-owned and Rwanda Intelligence-run The New Times, May 3, 2011, in an opinion titled “Osama bin Laden’s Lessons for Local Terrorists”, opens with ominously familiar warning to all pro-democracy voices and Rwandans in general: “You can run. You can hide. But you won’t escape. Osama bin Laden learnt the lesson of this simple truth”.

Rwanda: Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza on Trial

On October 14th, five days after she last spoke to KPFA, she was arrested and confined to Kigali’s 1930 maximum security prison, where she remains for the past 7-months. Her support team report that she is increasingly isolated by bureaucratic excuses and that the confidentiality of her conversations with her Rwandan lawyer has been violated.
Jean Manirarora, a member of Ingabire’s FDU-Inkingi coalition of parties, came into the KPFA Studios to discuss with KPFA’s Ann Garrison what is at stake in Ingabire’s case.

Rwanda: Who’s Denying Genocide?

The 2010 UN Mapping Exercise Report; UN Prosecutor Del Ponte’s 2009 exposé of Rwandan Patriotic Front crimes, and the 2008 Spanish genocide indictment of President Paul Kagame and the Rwandan Patriotic Front tell the real story.
In a May 2nd statement reported by the Associated Press, Rwandan Prosecutor Martin Ngoga renewed the false “genocide denial” charges against International Humanitarian Law Institute Director and William Mitchell College of Law Professor Peter Erlinder for his US-authored academic writings, reporting evidence and documents in the record at the UN’s International Criminal Tribunal on Rwanda, or ICTR.

Peter Erlinder Responds To ICTR’s Sanction

Judges at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha Tanzania have removed Peter Erlinder, law professor at William Mitchell College of Law in Minnesota, and defense counsel for a major Rwandan Genocide suspect, Maj. Aloys Ntabakuze. Mr. Erlinder was removed because he refused to continue the case. Mr. Erlinder said he did not appear because he feared his life would be in danger from the Rwandan government.

Predator Drones To “Stop Genocide”?

General Atomics’ Predator Drones were designed to be unmanned surveillance aircraft, but, beginning in 2000, Bill Clinton and then George Bush, had the Predators outfitted to drop Hellfire missiles, as they have in at least five countries, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, and now Libya.

One Rwandan Teenager’s Experience Of The Rwanda Genocide

In a recent Facebook discussion of the trial of opposition leader Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, Mbungira shared his own experience of the Rwanda Genocide at the ages of 14 and 15. The reference to “infiltration” at the outset has been reported before; for example, it’s been reported that the head of the Interahamwe, a.k.a. Hutu extremists, was an RPF agent.
