Government forces take new bases in Garbaharey

Somali government forces have retaken key vital bases in Muudaale area in the Gedo, region of the Southern part of Somalia after a massive offensive that saw the al-Shabab extremists flee the area.

The Somali government forces engaged the al-Shabab extremists in a major offensive that saw the al-Shabab overpowered and flee the area with bodies of the extremists scattered in the areas where the forces launched a major offensive.

Government officials toured the bases newly acquired said that it is a step in the right direction and called on the Somali people to support the government forces who are in a bid to restore peace and sanity in Somalia after two decades of war.

The Somali Defence Minister H.E Abdihakim Mohamud Hajji Fiqi whom has been on official duty in the Gedo region of Somalia said that with the ongoing progress initiated by Somali government forces with the AMISOM backing means an end to the al-Shabab extremists and a permanent end to the pain and suffering inflicted to the Somali people.
