On Wednesday, April 20, 2011, Milton Allimadi, editor and publisher of Black Star News and Don DeBar, former News Headline Producer at WBAI gave presentations at the second installment of the “Elombe Brath Global Africa Lecture Series” at the Brecht Forum. This second forum of the lecture series was titled “50 Years After Uhuru, Who Really Owns Africa?” and was moderated by AfrobeatRadio’s Wuyi Jacobs.

Special guests included Cinque Brath, one of Elombe Brath’s sons, and Bernard White, former program director at WBAI.

The Elombe Brath Global Africa Lecture Series is produced by the Elombe Brath Global Africa Lecture Series Steering Committee and co-sponsored by the Brecht Forum and AfrobeatRadio. The event was recorded and made available by Fred Nguyen. Many thanks to the attendees and all involved.

The next forum in the Elombe Brath Global Africa Lecture Series will take place on Tuesday, May 22, 2011 and will feature Professor Ali Ahmida of the University of New England, and Dr. Younis Ayoub, visiting scholar at Columbia University, who will talk on Northern Africa.
